SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Sanford Health has added India to the list of countries where it is considering expansion.
The Argus Leader reports that Executive Vice President Ruth Krystopolski says the Dakotas-based health network will consider whether a clinic in India would be able to support itself economically while providing services to children in need.
India is the world's second-most populous country, with 1.2 billion people, behind China with 1.3 billion.
Sanford has main offices in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Fargo, N.D. It has opened a number of medical facilities outside of its main service area of the Upper Midwest since 2009, both in the U.S. and abroad.
