The Minnesota Wild go for their second win at home on Sunday night after beating the Colorado Avalanche 4-2 on Saturday.

The season was delayed for three months by a lockout. Nearly 20,000 people filled the Xcel Energy Center to watch the Wild take the ice for the first time with new teammates Zach Parise and Ryan Suter.

Parise said his first appearance on the ice for Minnesota felt good.

"It was awesome," he said. "It was electric right at the beginning of the game. And then unfortunately the first period, we didn't give them much to cheer about, but then once we broke through, understood how we had to play, they really got into it. It was fun."

Wild coach Mike Yeo acknowledged the game got off to a slow start. But he said that changed with two power-play goals from Dany Heatley on assists from Parise.

"It was real nice to get a win for our fans," Yeo said. "And on top of that, I thought that they were instrumental in that game for us. We weren't giving them much to cheer about early. But the second we did, the place was rocking, and we fed off it."

The Wild take on the Dallas Stars at 7 p.m. Sunday.
