Officials at a minimum-security federal prison camp near Duluth say two white-collar criminals escaped on Saturday.

U.S. Marshal Service spokesman Thomas Volk said Michael Krzyzaniak, 64, and Gerald Greenfield, 67, went missing.

Prison spokesman David Baker said the public was not in danger.

"They were discovered missing at the 10 p.m. count," Baker said. "We notified the U.S. Marshals and the local authorities. Right now, it's still an investigation. All we know is they're missing and we're looking for them right now."

The prison camp is on the former Duluth Air Force Base seven miles north of the city, where prisoners are "on the honor system" instead of having locked cells, Volk said.

Krzyzaniak is serving a 12-year sentence for bilking investors out of nearly $26 million. Greenfield is serving a four-year sentence for conspiracy to commit money laundering in a $2.5 million mortgage fraud scheme.
