Officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be in southwestern Minnesota today to assess the amount of damage caused by an ice storm earlier this month. The information they gather will help determine whether the area will declared a disaster area and eligible for financial help from the federal government.
One of the things that the FEMA team will see is a lot of damaged trees. MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Scott Rosenberg, City Forester for Worthington. He says his community was devastated by tree loss due to the storm.
