The Safe and Supportive Minnesota Schools Act, A statewide anti-bullying bill, is awaiting a floor vote in the Minnesota House and moving its way through the Senate.

House file 826 would replace the state's current law, which at 37 words is considered one of the nation's weakest laws on bullying. The bill faces some opposition, including from the Catholic Church.

Jason Adkins, executive director of the Minnesota Catholic Conference, which lobbies on behalf of the church at the Legislature, speaks with MPR News on the matter.
