CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL, S.D. (AP) -- Crazy Horse Memorial is commemorating the 65th anniversary of the dedication of the monument with several activities in June.
Monday marks the 65th anniversary of the dedication of the Crazy Horse Memorial and the first mountain blast.
It's also the 15th anniversary of the dedication of the finished carved face of Crazy Horse.
A blast will take place on Tuesday at 3 p.m. to commemorate the anniversary.
The summer's weekly performance and lecture series starts on Thursday and runs through Aug. 29.
Two night blasts are scheduled for later in the month to commemorate the anniversary of the 1876 Battle of the Little Big Horn and Memorial CEO Ruth Ziolkowski's birthday.
The memorial is a mountain carving in progress that will honor Oglala Lakota warrior Crazy Horse.
