This month, Joel Wiggins began his term as president of Crown College, a private Christian college in Saint Bonifacius.
The college says that although presidents of private colleges usually rise through academia, Wiggins -- a Crown alumnus -- is "a longtime business incubator manager, Christian pastor and university instructor."
More:
His background includes 13 years in education, 16 years in Christian ministry and 15 years in business and entrepreneurial development, including international consulting. Most recently, he was president and CEO of Enterprise Center of Johnson County near Kansas City, and was founding organizer and executive director of Mid-America Angel Investments.
Wiggins got his Ph.D. in communication studies from University of Texas at Austin in 1999.
