The disparity in achievement on standardized tests in between minorities and white students is worse in Minnesota than in virtually any other state.
"We're being beaten by states like Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia. This is absurd," Minneapolis City Councilmember and candidate for mayor Don Samuels said from the steps of Harvest Preparatory School, a North Minneapolis Charter School. "Nobody thought Mississippi could beat Minnesota at anything -- certainly not education." (MPR News)
