A 101-year-old woman died Wednesday after being hit by a St. Paul police vehicle last week.
St. Paul Police Department spokesman Sgt. Paul Paulos identified the victim as Roza Sakhina of St. Paul.
Paulos said the squad was backing up on the 800 block of Cleveland Avenue S. when its bumper "grazed" Sakhina on Aug. 16.
Sakhina was checked into Regions Hospital for treatment.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner is still investigating the exact cause of death. Police are also investigating the incident.
"We're gathering information from our accident reconstructionist, and that's going to take some time," Paulos said. "It's in the preliminary stage."
Paulos said they may identify the driver of the police vehicle Friday.
