U student still missing after charges filed in Burnsville shooting

Murder charges were filed in a Burnsville fatal shooting, but a University of Minnesota student last seen with the alleged shooter remains missing.

Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, 31, is accused of shooting Palagor Obang Jobi, 23, eight times outside of Nina's Grill in Burnsville early Sunday. When police arrived they found Jobi dead in the parking lot.

According to the criminal complaint, Ashley Marie Conrade, 24, said she, Chavez-Nelson and Anarae Schunk, 20, drove to the bar together and returned to her home after the shooting, where Nelson remained until his arrest two days later.

Conrade was charged Thursday with aiding Chavez-Nelson.

Schunk's family hasn't heard from her since Sunday and have been trying to find her.

Burnsville police are asking for anyone with information of her whereabouts to contact them. Friends have set up a Facebook page called Please Help Find Anarae Schunk to help with the search.

The office of the Hennepin County Attorney had previously charged Chavez-Nelson with burglary and possession of a firearm on June 13. He had a prior conviction for aggravated robbery in the first degree and illegal possession of a firearm in February 2006, according to the Hennepin County charges.
