A body found Monday in rural Rice County is that of Anarae Schunk, who had been missing since Sept. 22, Rosemount police said Tuesday afternoon.
Schunk was last seen with her ex-boyfriend, who allegedly shot another man eight times in the parking lot of a Burnsville restaurant. Officers arrived to find the man dead. Schunk's ex-boyfriend, Shavelle Chavez-Nelson has since been charged in the death of Palagor Obang Jobi, 23.
On Saturday, Burnsville police said they'd uncovered evidence that 20-year-old Schunk, a University of Minnesota student, may have been the victim of a homicide.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the body, the Rosemount department said Tuesday.
Rosemount Police are currently leading the ongoing investigation and are seeking information from the public to help in the investigation.
