The Minneapolis City Council made it official Friday, formally approving the New York City firm James Corner Field Operations to remake Nicollet Mall.
The firm was one of three finalists from submissions around the world. Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in 2015 and end in 2016.
Other James Corner Field Operations projects include the High Line in New York City and London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
