A Minnesota tribe is appealing a federal judge's order to pay more than $10 million in casino revenue to the city of Duluth.
The Duluth News Tribune reports the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa filed a notice of appeal on Monday.
The $10 million was meant to cover a period between late 2009, when the band stopped making payments to the city, and April 2011.
U.S. District Judge Susan Nelson has said the band has profited more than $20 million during that time, while receiving city services for free.
Duluth City Attorney Gunnar Johnson says the appeal is a surprise and it could delay any payments for another year.
