A sharp decline in fires could mean changes for the Minneapolis Fire Department and other fire departments around the country.

Of the 36,985 runs for Minneapolis in 2012, just 4 percent involved using a water line to fight a fire, according to a Star Tribune report. Fires in Minneapolis are down 50 percent in the last decade.

Josepj Mattison, Minneapolis fire captain and secretary of Local 82 of the International Fire Fighters Association of Minneapolis, joins The Daily Circuit to discuss changes in the department and funding concerns.
