City leaders in Fargo have decided to include electronic cigarettes in the city's tobacco ordinance.
WDAY reports that the decision means it will be illegal to give or sell e-cigarettes to minors.
E-cigarettes are battery-powered devices that heat a liquid nicotine solution and create a water vapor that users inhale. Manufacturers say the mist is harmless and regular smokers who switch to e-cigarettes lower their health risk.
North Dakota state law prohibits smoking in any public places, which includes e-cigarettes.
