Kerri Miller's book pick of the year is Colum McCann's "TransAtlantic," a novel that weaves together the stories of various historical figures.
In announcing her choice of a favorite novel for the year, Kerri said the book gave her "a whole new perspective and understanding of an historical figure." She said she was surprised the book failed to make many Top 10 lists for the year.
"I loved this book," she said, and gives it as a gift. "I highly recommend it."
Euan Kerr said his favorite book of the year is "A Tale for Time Being," by Ruth Ozeki. In it, a writer (named Ruth) finds a Hello Kitty lunchbox containing the diary of a Japanese teenage girl. Ozeki is coming to town on Jan. 13.
