The Cedar Cultural Center is holding a concert to raise funds for victims and families of a building fire that took place just a few hundred feet from the music venue in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis.
In partnership with community radio station KFAI and nearby Augsburg College, The Cedar has organized a benefit concert for Jan. 24 featuring Spider John Koerner, The Brass Messengers, Martin Devaney, Southside Desire, Augsburg JIVE, DJ Go Getta and others.
The blaze claimed the lives of three people, displaced the tenants of 10 residential units, and consumed the Otanga Grocery Store located on the ground floor of the building.
