A new law that took effect this year requires companies to 'ban the box,' meaning they can't ask about a person's criminal history in the initial job application. Advocates for the law say it was just step one and they're hoping state lawmakers address the issue of expunging criminal history records during the 2014 session.
Members of the Minnesota Senate Judiciary meet Wednesday to consider more changes. Mark Haase, vice president of the Council on Crime and Justice will speak at that hearing and joins The Daily Circuit to preview the discussion.
