Part 1: Ron Rabinovitz tells MPR's Cathy Wurzer (2007) about his lifelong friendship with Jackie Robinson. It's the subject of a new play at the History Theatre in St. Paul.
Rabinovitz grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and now lives in the Twin Cities. He became friends with Robinson through letters they exchanged beginning in the 1950s when Rabinowitz was a boy.
Part 2: Author Michael Chabon speaks about childhood lessons about race, and how it influenced his writing, especially his newest book "Telegraph Hill."
He spoke at the Friends of the Hennepin County Library's "Talk of the Stacks" series in 2012.
