The two people who died in an officer-involved shooting last week in Eden Prairie were suspects in a motor vehicle theft case.
According to court records, Olmsted County issued arrest warrants for 36-year-old Matthew Serbus and 34-year-old Dawn Pfister on Jan. 28, after they failed to appear at a hearing to face motor vehicle theft charges.
Serbus had a long list of prior felony charges in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Pfister was arrested in Wisconsin last year and faced a felony drug possession charge.
According to her Facebook page, Pfister lived in Elkhorn, Wis., and was in a relationship with Serbus for about a month before the two died after leading law enforcement officers on a high speed chase down Highway 212.
No officers were hurt in the incident. The BCA is investigating the shooting.
