WASHINGTON -- State Rep. Kurt Zellers, R-Maple Grove, will be holding a fundraiser for his gubernatorial campaign in Washington, D.C., Friday evening.
The fundraiser, at a watering hole favored by Republicans near the White House, coincides with a meeting of the Republican Governors Association in Washington and also features the Speakers of the Florida and Michigan Houses of Representatives as special guests. Zellers' campaign suggests a attendees contribute $100.
Zellers is one of a large pool of Republicans who hope to take on DFL Gov. Mark Dayton in November. As of Dec. 31, Zellers has raised more than $400,000 towards his campaign, more than any other GOP candidate except businessman Scott Honour.
