Dr. Deane Marchbein gave a keynote address at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum on March 8, 2014 at Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
Marchbein is the president of the U.S. board of directors of Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres. The international organization of 30,000 medical personnel has helped 8 million people in 70 countries around the world.
But Dr. Marchbein emphasizes that Doctors Without Borders is a medical humanitarian action organization, not a human rights or political organization.
