Minnesota state colleges and universities are freezing undergraduate tuition again next year.
Trustees will discuss a proposed operating budget of about $1.8 billion on Wednesday, said Chief Financial Officer Laura King, adding that, "Undergraduate tuition will be in the $4,800 to $6,800 range, before consideration of financial aid."
"We're really committed to the board's affordability agenda, and have worked really hard on this budget to do everything we can to limit the cost increases to students."
The system expects to hold student fee increases to less than 1 percent, and the average increase to room and board will be roughly 3 percent, she said. Tuition levels for graduate students are not yet set.
Trustees are expected to approve the budget in June.
