Ramsey County prosecutors have charged a Little Canada chiropractor with raping a patient.
Paul David Thompson, 54, is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The woman told authorities Thompson assaulted her when she went to his office for an appointment two weeks ago. According to the criminal complaint, she said Thompson then performed chiropractic therapy on her back.
The Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners put Thompson on probation in 1991 following allegations he inappropriately touched several female patients and an employee.

In 2007 the board suspended Thompson's license after he failed to comply with the conditions of a second probation term.
Despite Thompson's record, his license was never revoked, said Micki King, health program representative for the board.
"If the doctor admits that something happened, we could take action," said King, who handles disciplinary actions. "But if he doesn't admit to anything and wants to fight it, then the evidence we have has to be strong enough to withstand a challenge in court. We get a lot of allegations that come through, and there's just really not a lot to act on."
Court records show Thompson pleaded guilty to domestic assault in 2000.
