Wednesday's Morning Edition music features the busy hands of Cuban-American Pedrito Martinez, who has been called one of the world's best conga players. He learned percussion in jam sessions on Havana streets, and he brought that energy with him to America in the late 1990s.
Martinez is in town tonight, playing with his band at the Dakota Jazz Club. MPR News jazz writer David Cazares profiles Martinez and his band here.
