Investors want women's hockey in Minnesota

When women who play hockey in college graduate, there aren't a lot of options if they want to continue with the sport.

One of them is the five-team Canadian Women's Hockey League. Boston is currently the only U.S. city with a team in the CWHL, but a group of Minnesota investors is hoping to change that. They made their case to the league last month on why Minneapolis should be awarded an expansion franchise, and expect to hear soon about their prospects.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with former University of Minnesota Women's hockey coach Laura Halldorson, who is part of the group working to get the franchise.
