Yes, we savor these golden days of October in Minnesota. We never know what November will bring at this latitude. So when we get a final weekend in October with sunny skies and temps running a good 10 degrees above average we soak it up.

The maps show a cool front drifting through as cool (but not cold) high pressure drifts overhead this weekend. By Monday, the next low pressure wave brings a round of much needed showers to Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Temps this weekend make the low 60s in the metro. Sunny skies and light winds? Pinch me, it's almost November. Spotty showers roll in Monday. Perfect timing or what?
Monday's rainfall looks light again, with most areas trying to squeeze out a quarter inch. The system gets it's act together over the Arrowhead and Wisconsin, where more significant totals will likely fall.
We could use a good soaking. More yellow is creeping onto Minnesota in the latest US Drought Monitor maps released this week.
About 17% of Minnesota is now listed as "abnormally dry."
