Today's Morning Edition music features Bob Dylan and The Band goofing around on a song titled "I'm Your Teenage Prayer."
The song is included on a six-CD box set, which includes 30 songs fans have never heard. "The Basement Tapes Complete: The Bootleg Series Vol. 11" is an exhaustive collection of music created by Dylan and members of The Band at a house known as Big Pink in the woods near Woodstock during the summer of 1967.
In an interview Dylan talked about why he enjoyed making music away from the pressures of the studio. "That's really the way to do a recording: in a peaceful, relaxed setting. In somebody's basement. With the windows open... and a dog lying on the floor."
"The Basement Tapes" comes out next week. A selection of more than a dozen songs are available to listen to online here.
