In another round of pre-session leadership appointments, Minnesota Senate Republicans announced today that Sens. Bill Ingebrigtsen of Alexandria and Carrie Ruud of Breezy Point will serve as assistant leaders of the minority caucus.
Ingebrigtsen is serving his third term in the state Senate. He has been an assistant leader the past two years. For Ruud, who’s serving her second nonconsecutive term, it’s a new assignment. She said in a news release that it was an honor to be chosen.
“Minnesotans are facing a number of serious challenges, including soaring health care costs, rising prices for goods and services, roads in disrepair, and a growing tax burden,” Ruud said. “In the next biennium, Senate Republicans will address these challenges head-on.”
The 2015 legislative session begins Jan. 6.
