Eric Deggans, NPR's first full-time TV critic, joined Tom Weber last week for the third installment in MPR News' Broadcast Journalist Series.

Deggans' book, "Race-Baiter," explores racism, sexism, and prejudice in modern media -- and how we are all worse off for it.

In addition to discussing his book, Deggans weighed in on the #pointergate story and why he says he's hesitant to use the word "racist" for everyone who utters racially-insensitive remarks.
