It's been two years since Minnesotans rejected a referendum at the ballot that would have defined marriage as between one man and one woman. It's been a little more than a year since same-sex marriage has been legal in the state.
But that option has been available to couples in Massachusetts for more than a decade. How did Minnesota's debate coincide with efforts in other states and how does it fit into the larger history of allowing gay couples to marry?
Marc Solomon is one of the men who's been on the front lines of many campaigns. He is the national campaign director for the group Freedom to Marry and his new book is called "Winning Marriage -- the Inside Story of how Same-Sex Couples Took on the Politicians and Pundits - and Won."
Solomon joins The Daily Circuit to discuss his new book.
