A White Bear Lake Area High School official has apologized to another high school after a fan made a racial remark during a boys basketball game.
Activities director Tim Hermann issued a written apology Wednesday to Cretin-Derham Hall regarding a fan's behavior at the Dec. 12 Suburban East Conference game at White Bear Lake. He said in the letter that the school is continuing to investigate the incident and will work closely with the school's spectators to ensure they're respectful of visiting teams.
Cretin-Derham Hall activities director Jodi Loeblein-Lecker told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that someone in the White Bear Lake student section made racially motivated noises while a Raiders player was shooting a free throw.
She says Hermann took her complaint seriously and White Bear Lake did its due diligence in the matter.
