Prosecutors say a 14-year-old girl gathered guns from around her St. Paul home and hid them in her bedroom as a fight between her parents escalated.
Police say the girl, the oldest of five children in the house, called police Jan. 12 after she saw her father pointing a gun at her mother and a knife in the hands of her mother. Ramsey County prosecutors say five guns belonging to Billy James Wright were recovered. He's been charged with child endangerment.
The complaint says the girl told investigators she was afraid her parents would use the guns against each other.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Wright told police he and his wife had been arguing but denied weapons were involved.
