Hennepin County will begin $86 million in transportation construction projects soon ranging from new traffic lights to the rehabilitation of historic bridges.
Some of the bigger projects include a two-year renovation of the Franklin Avenue Bridge in Minneapolis, improvements to Minnehaha Avenue south of Lake Street and the reconstruction of Bushaway Road through Minnetonka, Woodland and Wayzata.
Major projects include:
1) Franklin Avenue Bridge over the Mississippi River (County Road 5) — Minneapolis;

2) County Road 9 (Lake Drive/45th Avenue North) — Robbinsdale;
3) Minnehaha Avenue (County Road 48) — Minneapolis;
4) Shady Oak Road (County Road 61) — Hopkins and Minnetonka;
5) County Road 101 (Bushaway Road) — Minnetonka, Wayzata and Woodland;
6) County Road 101 — Minnetonka;
7) Washington Avenue restriping (County Road 152) — Minneapolis North Loop.
Other projects include: installation of 90 miles of new pavement, conversion of 45 traffic signals to LED lights and the update of more than 300 pedestrian ramps to improve accessibility.
