Today's Morning Edition music is from the Paul Butterfield Blues Band with "Thank you Mr. Poobah." It's a track from their first album, which came out in 1965.
The band, including Minneapolis native Mark Naftalin, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this weekend.
Naftalin is the son of former Minneapolis Mayor Art Naftalin. He played organ in the Butterfield band from 1965 to 1968. After that he created the Mark Naftalin Rhythm and Blues Revue. He's also hosted a blues radio show heard in the San Francisco Bay Area and was the founder of Winner Records.
When he was a teenager in Minneapolis, Naftalin played piano in a band called Johnny and the Galaxies.
