Fifty years ago Wednesday, the Twin Cities was hit by the biggest tornado outbreak in its history.
MPR News meteorologist Paul Huttner was just a kid back then, but he remembers the storm well because one of the tornadoes came very close to destroying his family's house in Deephaven, Minn.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Huttner about that day.
