Construction will close chunks of Interstate 494 and Minnesota Highway 77 in the south Twin Cities metro starting Friday night through Monday morning, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said Friday.
The eastbound I-494 ramp to northbound Highway 77 and the northbound Highway 77 ramp to westbound I-494 will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
The northbound Highway 77 ramp to westbound I-494 and the eastbound I-494 ramp to northbound Highway 77 will also be closed then.
MnDOT also cautions that Interstate 35E in St. Paul and Little Canada has many lane and ramp closures.

But a potentially bigger long-term hassle is set to start just before midnight Sunday in St. Paul. That's when crews will close Snelling Avenue between the eastbound and westbound ramps of I-94 for about three months.
MnDOT plans to replace the Snelling Avenue bridge deck spanning I-94, resurface the road and replace sidewalks between Selby Avenue and Pierce Butler Route.
The eastbound ramps at I-94 will also be closed along with Concordia Avenue between Fry Street and Asbury Street. Drivers should follow the marked detour routes, the agency said.
And here's a heads-up for the weekend after this: I-94 will close from 10 p.m. on May 15 through 5 a.m. on May 18 as the Snelling Avenue bridge deck is removed.
