State DNR stepping up invasive species enforcement

The fight against invasive carp starts a new chapter Tuesday night when the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam in downtown Minneapolis closes for good. There's a hope the closure will create a barrier past which the fish can't swim.

Let's not forget that carp are just one of many aquatic invasive species threatening Minnesota's rivers and lakes. With the boating season now underway, MPR News' Tom Weber checked in with the state's Department of Natural Resources for an update.
