The National Hockey League is currently taking applications through Aug. 10 for expansion teams and Proctor, Minn., wants to be considered.

Travis White, a city councilmember in the city of 3,000 near Duluth, believes Proctor should house an NHL team.

Proctor City Council is on the record supporting the idea. White joined MPR News' Tom Weber to make his pitch.
