In the category of politicians and cartography, Minnesotans are pretty well spoiled by Sen. Al Franken, who can draw a map of the United States freehand while speaking of each of the states.
So we'll allow ourselves to heartily chortle over the campaign staff of presidential candidate Ben Carson, which has created the great state of Vermonticut.
Christopher Ingraham of the Washington Post noticed something funny about this graphic, which Carson's campaign used to declare opposition to Syrian refugees being allowed to be resettled in the United States.
The redistricting of America merged Vermont with Connecticut, just southwest of Massachusetts, a position historically held by New York.
It also moved the rest of New England to somewhere around New Brunswick.
Carson's campaign deleted the tweet containing the map.
