Hy Berman, Minnesota's foremost historian, died Sunday at the age of 90.
In this 1998 "Voices of Minnesota" interview, he told MPR's Gary Eichten that public education and the GI bill allowed a child of New York immigrants to become one of Minnesota's most fondly remembered professors and — best storytellers.
