In an interview with People Magazine, President Obama said that his favorite book of 2015 is Lauren Groff's "Fates and Furies," the story of a marriage told from both the husband and wife's perspectives.

The president isn't alone in his love of Groff's book. Her novel was a finalist for the 2015 National Book Award and has landed on several "best books of the year" list.

Michelle Obama's favorite book of the year was poet Elizabeth Alexander's memoir, "The Light of the World," which she wrote after her husband's unexpected death. Alexander wrote and recited the poem "Praise Song for the Day" for Obama's 2009 presidential inauguration.
