Top moments from local bands in 2015

"South" by Hippo Campus

Swensson praised this local's bands tremendous year. In recent months, the band has appeared on Conan O'Brien, been reviewed in Rolling Stone and released a new EP.

"Humanize" by Lizzo

The Twin Cities rapper and singer performed earlier this month on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Adam Levy's "Naubinway" album

Levy's new album is a tribute to his son Daniel, who took his own life almost four years ago.

"In that time, he has become a champion for mental health awareness and being open about struggles with mental health," Swensson said.

The "Babes in Toyland" reunion

Swensson saw the influential band reunite for a show in a small bar in the California mountains, months before they returned to play Rock the Garden in Minneapolis.

"The crowd was mostly women, which I don't get to experience very often," Swensson said.

"Lies" by Low

"I just can't say enough good things about it," Swensson said of Low's new record, "Ones and Sixes."
