Today's Morning Edition music is from Davell Crawford with his take on Allen Toussaint's "Southern Nights."
Known as the "Piano Prince of New Orleans," Crawford has been playing professionally since age 7.
When he was 11, he started hanging around at Allen Toussaint's recording studio in New Orleans.
Monday and Tuesday night at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis he will play tribute to Toussaint's legacy as a songwriter, performer and producer. Toussaint died in November at age 77.
