March rain next week?

All indications favor an unseasonable March rain event next week. An unusually warm low pressure system for March is showing up on the maps early next week. That likely means rain instead of snow with the rain-snow line pushed north to the Canadian border.

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts model again leads the way with an unseasonably warm air mass, and highs in the 50s and even 60s. That's 15 to 20 degrees warmer than average for early March.

So much for the annual Minnesota state high school tourney snow storm. It's now a rain storm.
