Wednesday will be cooler, with showers still possible.

The European forecast model gives us highs in the 40s on Wednesday, which would make it possible for a few flakes to mix with our rain. The best chance of snow on Wednesday will be over northern Minnesota.

March 2012 was warmer

This has been a very warm March.  So far this month, our temperature at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is running 8.8 degrees above normal. That is very impressive. The snow has melted, flip-flops have been spotted and some golf courses have already opened.

Believe it or not, our March was much wamer in 2012. The average temperature for the month was 15.5 degrees above normal in the Twin Cities. We set a record high temp on March 10, which started a stretch during which we had record highs on 8 of 10 days!

We had our earliest 80 in Twin Cities history in 2012, on St. Patrick's Day.
