1. Ahead of big primaries in Florida and Ohio, last night's Republican debate was a bit more sedate than the previous ones. The big question is still whether anyone can stop Donald Trump from winning the nomination. (New York Times)

4. In Minnesota two DFL lawmakers say they will push to require background checks for all gun sales in the state, but a key committee chair says he won't give the bill a hearing. (MPR News)

6. Extended unemployment benefits for Iron Range workers are still held up at the Capitol because the issue has been tied to giving businesses a break on unemployment insurance costs. (MPR News)
