Twin Cities folk trio The Pines joined MPR News host Tom Weber the Maud Moon Weyerhaeuser studio for some conversation and music. David Huckfelt and brothers Benson and Alex Ramsey played songs off their new album "Above the Prairie."
The Iowan-native trio spoke with Tom about why their most recent project took the time it did and they reflected on how their music has evolved over the years.
They recorded in Iowa and when asked why Huckfelt said the album draws on the theme of home and in order to accurately represent that they needed to record in a place they felt most at home.
