A spring snowstorm Wednesday socked southern Minnesota, with some places getting nearly a foot of snow.
The band cut through the center of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, with the southern metro receiving heavy snow and the north virtually nothing.
The National Weather Service says an estimated 10 inches of snow fell in parts of the south metro, including Burnsville and Lakeville. The Rochester area received about 8 inches of snow.
Officials are advising no travel for residents living in southeast Minnesota.
Roads, fences and trees are caked in snow. The Minnesota Department of Transportation has about 100 plows clearing roads across the region.
