Some rain-snow showers today, cold wind Friday

Highs were in the 60s last Sunday. We'd be happy to see 50s right now.

It has been a chilly week, and we don't expect much of a warmup until Sunday.

Our Thursday will feature some snow showers early, then a wintry mix changing to scattered rain showers this afternoon.

Highs today will be well below normal:

The low pressure system causing today's rain-snow showers will slide east of us tonight. Behind the low, you can expect cold winds tomorrow:

Highs Friday will top out in the 30s over Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Warmer by Sunday

Our cool weather pattern breaks briefly on Sunday, then temps dip again early next week:

A few showers are possible on Sunday.

Long range forecast models indicate several days with highs in the 60s, beginning April 14. That would be nice!

Snowiest month ever in Duluth

If you ask a typical Minnesotan what month Duluth received its biggest snow total, you will probably get answers ranging from November to March.

Wrong!

Duluth recorded 50.8 inches of snow in April 2013. That is the most snow ever recorded in Duluth in any month of any year!
